News: Apple tries to break loose from IE

"SAN FRANCISCO--Apple Computer's Safari browser offers little challenge to Microsoft's browser dominance, analysts said Tuesday, but the Mac maker could benefit enormously if it can wean itself from Internet Explorer."

I feel sorry for the developers who have to accommodate all of these browsers in their code. This does nothing to promote standardization. It is doubtful that the Safari browser will be very successful.
